substainability

The project should be ecologically exemplary and as resource-saving as possible.

This begins with the "grey energy" used for the construction and continues with the later consumption of resources in the future operation.

As far as possible, local materials should be used for the main construction of the building. For example, the bricks of the façade are made around Kigali.

During usage the building should be operated CO2 neutral with a balanced energy consumption.

To this end, electricity and hot water will be produced on the main roof and energy-efficient appliances installed as far as possible.

It should also be proved that an optimal indoor climate can be achieved without air conditioning. Further rainwater is stored for irrigation.

As much green space as possible should also be preserved. We try to achieve this with the "roof garden" on the ground floor and the individual private gardens of some apartments.

quality

Beginning with the architecture to the materials up to the craftsmanship, the project should clearly set itself apart from comparable objects.

We would like to show that it is possible to build and plan competitively with products from Switzerland and neighboring European countries. The project should set standards in this area.

Nevertheless, no luxury apartments are planned. The prices of the units should allow to rent them at reasonable market prices to get necessary return on investment.

knowhow transfer

The often-encountered poor construction quality is not only reasoned by the materials used but also to the lack of qualifications in craftsmanship.

We want to implement the project with local craftsmen and working together with Swiss craftsmen on a selective basis for know-how transfer and quality assurance.

We also work with local planners with selective support from Switzerland.

With our project we would like to bring a small part of this knowledge to Rwanda in a sustainable way.
